Belmont Soccer Academy
2009-10 saw Belmont begin a new program - FA Belmont. It’s our hope that the Belmont Soccer Academy will create opportunities for students who want to develop their skills in Soccer. FA Belmont is now in its fourth year of operation, and the students are working very well. In four short years, our academy has expanded to two groups, one of which consists of grades 9-10 and the other of grades 11-12. Students range in skill level, from Club Silver to HPL (High Performance League). Belmont trains Monday through Thursday at Goudy turf at City Centre Park, and appreciates having a great facility close to our school. FA Belmont incorporates a number of community groups to assist in the academy experience for our students. DPL Crossfit has been instrumental in working on both fitness and physiological concepts. As well, both FC Victoria and Victoria Highlanders support the program with local coaches who work with our players on a regular basis, adding to the expertise that we are trying to offer. It is our expectation that the Belmont Academy will contintue to develop a relationship with the Victoria Highlander's organization and incorporate more players into guest coaching roles. Our hope is to open as many doors as possible for all FA Belmont players as they head toward furthering their playing and educational careers.
FA Belmont - weekly scheduleDuring a typical week, Soccer Academy students are participating in skills, drills, and game play from Monday through Thursday. Friday classes incorporate a classroom component in which students develop understanding of team building, heath and nutrition, human anatomy and physiological concepts.
